On June 27, 2026, Porto hosts Rothbard 100, a free event celebrating the centenary of the birth of Murray Rothbard — economist, political philosopher, and founder of modern anarcho-capitalism, born on March 2, 1926.

The event takes place at Porto Business School, from 8:30am to 8:00pm, featuring over 10 national and international speakers, lectures, debates, and three panel discussions. The programme includes leading figures from the world of libertarian thought, with highlights including Hans-Hermann Hoppe (philosopher and economist, author of Democracy: The God That Failed), Stephan Kinsella (austro-anarchist legal theorist), and Saifedean Ammous (economist and author of The Bitcoin Standard).

The event also marks the exclusive launch of the Portuguese translation of Kinsella's Legal Foundations of a Free Society, published by Cataláxia.

The programme covers topics such as Austrian monetary theory, Bitcoin as sound money, the ethical foundations of individual freedom, and Rothbard's intellectual legacy — an agenda that aligns directly with the values and mission of the Instituto Português de Bitcoin.

The Instituto Português de Bitcoin is proud to support Rothbard 100. The connection between Rothbard's thought and Bitcoin — both phenomena rooted in the rejection of state monetary manipulation and in individual sovereignty — makes this event particularly relevant to our community.

Registration is free at rothbard100.pt. Those who pre-registered must confirm their registration using the same email.
